Huawei, the Chinese company at the centre of the US-China tech storm, is working with European,Japanese and Chinese car groups to launch self-driving vehicles as early as 2021 as it seeks to move beyond the telecoms equipment industry to embrace a broader range of artificial intelligence products.

華為(Huawei)正與歐洲、日本以及中國的汽車(chē)集團合作,爭取最快在2021年推出自動(dòng)駕駛汽車(chē)。這家被美中科技風(fēng)暴推到風(fēng)口浪尖的中國企業(yè),正尋求在電信設備行業(yè)以外擴張,擁抱更廣闊的人工智能產(chǎn)品。

 

Dang Wenshuan, Huawei’s chief strategy architect, told the Financial Times that Huawei was providing the AI backbone in several co-operative ventures including one with Audi, which is owned by Germany’s Volkswagen; GAC Toyota Motor, a joint venture between Japan’s Toyota and a Chinese company; and the Chinese manufacturers Beijing New Energy Automobile and Changan Automobile.

華為首席戰略架構師黨文栓告訴英國《金融時(shí)報》,華為在多個(gè)合作項目中提供人工智能主干,合作伙伴包括德國大眾汽車(chē)(Volkswagen)旗下的奧迪(Audi)、日本豐田(Toyota)在華合資企業(yè)廣汽豐田(GAC Toyota Motor),以及中國制造商北京新能源汽車(chē)(Beijing New Energy Automobile)和長(cháng)安汽車(chē)(Changan Automobile)。

 

“From my understanding, we are working together to have a car that will be shipped in the year 2021 or 2022 using these [autonomous driving] components,” Mr Dang said. “But not only in China . . . it will also be in Europe.”
